Although officially announced as probable to return from an ankle injury sufferd late in the first half of today's game against the Redskins, Peterson has remained on the sidelines for the entire second half after the Vikings downgraded his chances of returning to questionable.

Rookie Toby Gerhart continues to serve as the team's sole RB with Peterson watching from the sidelines. In fact, Gerhart left briefly with a shoulder stinger in the third quarter but Peterson never hit the field. Assuming he doesn't return, Peterson will have finished today's game with six carries for 36 yards and a touchdown. He added another 34 yards on one reception. ... We will, of course, continue to follow up on Peterson as further details come to light.
