A league source tells us that the initial news on Vick is encouraging. X-rays on his chest/ribs were negative.

But PFT's Mike Florio went on to report that Vick remains in pain and that he currently doesn't know whether he'll miss any games. The team has said an MRI will be conducted on Monday. Kevin Kolb would obviously take over as the starter for any games Vick misses. Mike Kafka would be the backup -- unless the Eagles decide to add a veteran. Florio reports that Jeff Garcia, currently playing in the UFL. ... Whatever the case, we'll note the Eagles tend to be very forthcoming with injury info. We'll pass along the MRI results when announced.
