Steven Jackson said this week the Rams didn't need a veteran RB, but it looks like they are going to get one anyway. ESPN.com's Mike Sando relayed the news cautiously on Twitter: "Just landed in STL and finished radio with John Clayton, who says the Rams will likely add Westbrook on Monday. Good insurance."

ESPN's Chris Mortensen had previously reported that Westbrook was expected to sign with a team by Monday. As PFT notes, Chris Ogbonnaya was the favorite to be the backup. Should Westbrook sign, he could cut into Jackson's playing time a little more than Ogbonnaya might have been expected to. Stay tuned.
