SI's Jim Trotter has reported via twitter that Raiders HC Tom Cable has formally named Campbell as the starting quarterback for the Raiders and indicated there would be no open competition for the job.

Cable praised Campbell's "leadership and professionalism" and said the players have responded to that. Periodic 2009 starter Bruce Gradkowski is the favorite to win the backup job and proved to the Raiders last year that he can be a competent starter should Campbell get injured.
