Following up on a previous item. ... Portis was knocked out of Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Falcons in the second quarter, suffering an apparent concussion. HC Jim Zorn said Portis was "knocked out."

Portis lent further credence to Zorn's comment by telling reporters after the game: "You tell me what happened I don't remember what happened. ..." Zorn said it was too early to say how long Portis might be out, if at all. Zorn said the team would be "cautious" about Portis' return. ... Stay tuned. We'll have more on Portis in coming days; but given the fact he was knocked unconscious, Ladell Betts chances of getting a start next weekend seem good.
