Freeman took warmup reps with starting center Jeff Faine Wednesday, the earliest indication that he is preparing to start against the Green Bay Packers Nov. 8.

HC Raheem Morris could make it official during his news conference later today, but Times staffer Rick Stroud believes it's clear the change will be made from Josh Johnson to the 17th overall pick.
