Although Stafford played well at times this preseason he struggled with consistency. Still, with Daunte Culpepper suffering an off-field toe injury, the door opened to make Stafford the starter. According to Schefter, this isn't a temporary job. The current plan is to stick with Stafford even if he struggles early.
