By the end of the week, Warner likely will return to Arizona, according to league sources. According to NFL Network insider Adam Schefter, Arizona is where Warner wants to be, where the Cardinals want him to be, and the San Francisco 49ers aren’t expected to make the type of push for him that some believed they would.

Even if the 49ers push, it's not clear it would work. As previously noted, Warner is willing to remain a Cardinal for less than what the 49ers offered. His willingness to hand back $1 million in each of the next two seasons if the Cardinals strike a new deal with Anquan Boldin was a sly public relations move, too.
