The Facts:
Jacobs was listed as probable on Friday but declared inactive for today's game against the Cardinals. Monday, the Giants will have to explain that decision to the NFL. According to a Cardinals spokesman, the team sent an informal complaint to the league about the Giants listing Jacobs as probable. "We will look into it," NFC information manager Randall Liu said.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
League policy requires teams to furnish an explanation to the league office when a player who's listed as probable doesn't play. The Giants could have updated Jacobs' status on Saturday night by downgrading him to questionable, but they're not required to do so. Look for the league to take the 5-hour flight into account. Also factoring in; Jacobs is in a contract year and is trying to prove he's durable; he admitted it was a tough decision to sit out -- a decision that appeared to be made by Jacobs and HC Tom Coughlin.
