ESPN insider Chris Mortensen began reporting this morning that Palmer's injury was caused by contact rather than the overuse issue the Bengals floated earlier in the week. And even though Palmer wanted to play, the team's medical staff convinced him this morning that a week off was in order. Ryan Fitzpatrick started in Palmer's place against Cleveland.
