Browns, Nick Chubb Agree To Three-Year, $36 Million Extension
As NFL.com reminded readers, over the past two seasons, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has emerged as one of the NFL's top running backs.

Now he's emerged as one of the league's top-paid running backs.

Chubb and the Browns have an agreement in principal on a three-year extension for $36.6 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday. The deal comes with $20 million fully guaranteed, Rapoport added.

At an average of $12.2 million per season in those three years, Chubb would be the sixth-highest-paid running back on yearly averages, per Over the Cap.

Chubb finished seventh in the league last season with 1,067 yards rushing and 12 rushing touchdowns despite playing only 12 games. He ranked second among qualified running backs in averaging 5.6 yards per carry in 2020.

Chubb has 3,557 rushing yards and 28 rushing touchdowns along with 72 receptions for 577 yards and two receiving touchdowns in 44 career games since the Browns made him a second-round choice in 2018.

Heading into a 2021 campaign in which many believe success to be at hand for the Browns, Chubb and Kareem Hunt provide Cleveland with one of the top one-two combos around.

With current ADP suggesting a mid-first round price for Chubb and RB21 pricing on Hunt, fantasy managers are rightly buying into the notion that Kevin Stefanski's offense can support both players maintaining both their roles and rate of production.
