Add Rodgers To List Of Disgrunted QBs; Veteran Wants Out Of Green Bay
Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Green Bay Packers that he has told some within the organization that he does not want to return to the team, league and team sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday.

FOXSports insider Jay Glazer also chimed in, advising his Twitter followers: "I think it's more than a contract deal, I think he's pretty strongly convicted that he doesn't want to go back to Packers."

The Packers are aware of his feelings, concerned about them and have had team president Mark Murphy, general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur each fly out on separate trips to meet with Rodgers at various points this offseason, sources told Schefter.

The Packers have offered to extend Rodgers' contract, sources told ESPN.

Rodgers is unhappy for a variety of reasons, with some of it dating to last year's draft when the Packers didn't inform him before trading up to draft a quarterback with their first-round pick. Some took this as a sign that his days in Green Bay could he numbered.

He also is at a different point in his personal life, having recently gotten engaged to actress Shailene Woodley. Rodgers also has hosted "Jeopardy!" and said it would be a dream to become the full-time host. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Rodgers really impressed the brass during his stint on the show. The belief is, when they finish auditions, he'll be among those with a chance to do the job full-time.

Also possible: He could play football and also host "Jeopardy!"

Rodgers has made cryptic comments about his future in Green Bay, but he has told others that he does not want to return.

Publicly, the Packers remain resolute.

"As we've stated since the season ended, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond," Gutekunst told ESPN. "Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team."

Still, a source with knowledge of dynamics of the situation told Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio that Rodgers could indeed be traded this weekend.

The question is where?

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the 49ers reached out to the Packers on Wednesday concerning a potential trade for Rodgers. No formal offer was made, per Pelissero, but Florio reports that San Francisco would be a preferred destination of the quarterback.

In fact, as of last night, Florio reports that Rodgers' wish list was 49ers, Broncos, Raiders (not necessarily in that order).

Florio went on to explain there are several key factors.

A native of California, Rodgers would prefer to play on the West Coast. In trading him, the Packers would want to send him out of the NFC -- which would likely eliminate the 49ers as a potential match. And because Green Bay selected Jordan Love in the first round last year, the club would not need a quarterback in return.

The Chargers already have a young budding franchise quarterback in Justin Herbert, which would likely take them out of the discussion.

That leaves Las Vegas and Denver.

The Raiders still have Derek Carr under a team-friendly deal, but it seems like every offseason the team puts out feelers for available quarterbacks. The Broncos just acquired Teddy Bridgewater to compete with Drew Lock, but Rodgers would represent a clear and obvious upgrade.

The first round of the 2021 draft begins on Thursday night, but Rodgers' potential break from Green Bay will likely continue to be the story of the weekend.
