Waiver Wire Targets 2018 Week 11

The waiver wire is key to surviving this long season filled with injuries and other factors that could change a player’s role on their offense. Each week I will provide you with a list of players you should be looking to add off of waivers. Let’s take a look at some of those players below.

Teams on bye this week: Buffalo, Cleveland, Miami, New England, New York Jets, San Francisco

Quarterback

Marcus Mariota – Titans: Mariota has strung together three consecutive solid performances, scoring at least 17 fantasy points in his last three contest, topping 25 fantasy points in back-to-back games. This is the Mariota I was expecting to see earlier in the season, but due to injuries in the offense, it took some time to get rolling. At this time the offense looks like it is clicking and Mariota is a big reason why. He draws a favorable matchup against the Colts this week and can be considered a strong streaming option.

Others to consider: Dak Prescott - Cowboys

Running Back

Josh Adams – Eagles: Adams is seeing more opportunities in recent week and although his workload is not significant at this time, he has been efficient. In Week 8, he played in 29 percent of the snaps and in Week 10 he played in 31 percent of the snaps, there is a positive trend here. Adams cannot be fully trusted yet, because he has only touched the ball 17 times in the last two games, but he is someone that can be stashed to see if his role continues to increase.

Rashaad Penny – Seahawks: Penny had a career day in Week 10 against the Rams, rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Following the game, he received positive feedback from coach Pete Carroll, who said, "he looked just like the guy we thought he would look like when we drafted him." Penny could see an increased workload moving forward after this performance and should be added off of waivers this week. The rookie was drafted to man the workload for this offense, and this could be the opportunity to do just that.

Others to consider: Theo Riddick – Lions, Elijah McGuire – Jets, Giovani Bernard – Bengals

Wide Receiver

Anthony Miller – Bears: Miller has scored at least 10 fantasy points – PPR formats – in three consecutive games. He has now received at least six targets in each of his last four games and has two touchdowns during that stretch. The Bears have a couple of favorable matchups in the upcoming weeks, so Miller could be of service to those in need of a wide out. He remains available in over 80 percent of ESPN leagues.

John Ross – Bengals: Ross received six targets last week, during A.J. Green absence, which was good for 29 percent of the market share. He came down with two catches for 29 yards and a touchdown. Green is expected to sit out again in Week 11, so Ross should continue to see a usage bump. That matchup is not all that enticing, but with six teams on bye this week, fantasy owners may have to consider Ross. He is owned in just 18 percent of ESPN leagues.

Others to consider: Willie Snead – Ravens, Christian Kirk – Cardinals, Josh Reynolds – Rams, Maurice Harris – Redskins, Donte Moncrief - Jaguars

Tight End

Jonnu Smith - Titans: Smith has now scored in back-to-back games, but his usage has not increased much as he has yet received over three targets in a single game. Therefore, it is tough to gauge on whether this is sustainable or not. There were high expectations for the rookie tight end and it appears to be coming into fruition. Although we would like to see more volume for him to really feel good about taking a flier on him, the matchup this week is a good one. The Colts are yielding the ninth most fantasy points per game to tight end, and have surrendered 53 receptions (4th most), 624 receiving yards (4th most), and three touchdowns to the position.

Others to consider: Jeff Heuerman – Broncos, Ricky Seals-Jones – Cardinals
