Stock Performers 2019 week 13

By Michael Valverde
Michael Valverde

Welcome to the stock report Week 11 edition. Even though there are many great performances and several mediocre performances, the player's stock usually remains the same. Patrick Mahomes is always going to be in the top echelon while Mitchell Trubisky is going to trend toward the bottom. What will be discussed in this and future articles are those players that are rapidly moving up or down based on the athlete's weekly performance. In doing so, hopefully, this will bring more clarity to those on the radar for waiver wire choices, those that need to be bypassed, traded for, or denied.

STOCK UP

Sam Darnold-QB-NYJ

Three weeks ago, Sam Darnold would score twice against the Giants, once in the air and one on the ground. Darnold then threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns against the Redskins. Last week against the Raiders, he went over over 300 yards and two scores while adding a rushing touchdown. Darnold will face the Bengals this week, so he should continue to climb the stock charts.

Lamar Jackson-QB-BAL

The dynamic Lamar Jackson has been unstoppable the last three weeks with his 13 total touchdowns. The only team that has stopped him is Baltimore, as they have pulled Jackson in all three contests due to blow-outs. It will get tougher against San Francisco, but it seems that Jackson will find a way to be his typical "Action" self.

Derrick Henry-RB-TEN

The Titans are finally letting Derrick Henry lose this season and he is paying off with nearly 1,000 yards rushing and 12 total touchdowns. Completely dependent on the carries he gets, the last two contests he has destroyed both the Chiefs (23-188-2) and last week Jacksonville (18-159-2). The Colts are much tougher against the run, but Tennessee will again try to get their bulldozer in action.

Jarvis Landry-WR-CLE

The star wide receiver who has been a receiving machine most of his career has been on fire catching touchdown passes as well now. Jarvis Landry in four straight games Landry has found pay-dirt with a total of five scores to go along with his 29 receptions for 339 yards on 43 targets. Landry, is a top-12 receiver right now, who would've thunk that?

D.J. Moore-WR-CAR

We know one thing Kyle Allen will find D.J. Moore on a routine basis as the stud receiver has gone over the century mark in three of his last four games with one touchdown and has caught 30 passes on 45 targets. The Panthers face the Redskins this week, so expect more yards and catches from the second-year wide out.

Jared Cook-TE-NO

Since the bye week, Jared Cook has been back to form. In the last three weeks, Cook has caught 14 passes for 206 yards and two scores. Last week against Carolina was his best performance of the season catching six passes for 99 yards and a score. The first six weeks of the season Cook didn't have more than four receptions in any contest and has now done that twice in two of the last three weeks.

STOCK DOWN

Jacoby Brissett-QB-IND

Before his knee injury he was a top-ten quarterback, but playing with a brace seems to be hampering his production level. In the last two games, Jacoby Brissett has thrown for only 277 yards and one touchdown, however he did score on running plays in back-to-back weeks. His yardage totals can't fall all on him, he is only throwing around 25 times a game, as the Colts run the ball a ton.

Saquon Barkley-RB-NYG

It has been an ugly four game stretch for the talented running back. Against the Lions Saquon Barkley totaled just 64 yards on the ground on 19 carries, but made up for it catching 8 passes for 79 yards and a score. Then, against the Cowboys he put up just 28 yards on 14 carries, but his receiving bailed him out (6-67-0). In Week 10, the Jets shut him down in both phases. Barkley would total just one yard on the ground and 30 in the air. Chicago did him no favors either, keeping him to 59 yards on 17 carries.

Amari Cooper-WR-DAL

The Dallas Cowboys have struggled and Amari Cooper has not helped. In the last two games, Cooper has caught just three balls for 38 yards on ten targets. Cooper was completely shut out in New England, and produced his three receptions against the lowly Lions. It has been only two games since his big 11 for 147 and one touchdown game, so it is too early to worry about a total decline.
