DFS Tournament Game Breakdown 2020 Championship Weekend

Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes, KC

Mahomes is coming into this game questionable with a concussion but all signs point to him playing. If this at all keeps his ownership in check, it's a major win. If not, he remains the best ceiling play on the slate. His team has a 28 implied total and he's playing in a game with a 53-point total. Both marks lead the two-game slate. Mahomes led the league in passing yards per game at 316 and that was roughly 15 yards per game ahead of the No. 2 passer and over 25 yards ahead of the third-highest passer. He also finished second in the NFL in passing touchdowns per game.

Running Back

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, KC

If he's healthy, we want to be playing CEH, who missed last week with a hip injury but is expected to be ready for the Chiefs' AFC Championship game. CEH has been out for a few weeks but before he got banged up, it was clear that Kansas City was using him as their lead back. In his previous three games, Edwards-Helaire out-carried Le'Veon Bell 41-to-10 and out-targeted Bell 9-to-5. If healthy, he'll be the primary back on a team favored by a field goal at home with the highest team total of the slate.

Wide Receiver

Mecole Hardman, KC

If Sammy Watkins is out again this week, Hardman is the go-to choice for a unique player to stack Mahomes with. Last week, Hardman ran a route on 79.1% of Mahomes' dropbacks. That mark was third on the team. He was targeted four times and added one rush attempt. Hardman has averaged 10.7 yards per target since entering the league. That mark trails only A.J. Brown and Justin Jefferson.

Davante Adams, GB

Cutting the number of players in this and the GPP article makes it easier to not repeat players but leaving Adams out of either felt criminal. Even as one of the highest-owned players on the slate, his ownership may come in too low for his true odds of hitting. Removing the game Adam missed half of with an injury, he has been automatic in wins. He has averaged 9.2 catches for 107.6 yards and 1.4 scores when Green Bay earns a victory. He has failed to score just once in 11 Green Bay wins he has been healthy for.

Tight End

Dawson Knox, BUF

If you can play both Kelce and Adams in the same lineup please just do that. Kelce offers so much value over the average tight end on this slate that it's difficult to get off him in cash or tournaments. I simply didn't want to write about him twice (he makes an appearance in my cash game breakdown). Knox is the cheapest viable tight end and he is live to score in any game. He ran a route on 68.3% of Allen's dropbacks last week and
