Week 3

Quarterbacks

Daniel Jones vs. Falcons ($5,800)

Danny Dimes may struggle with turnovers at times, but he also has upside. He also gives us rushing equity. Jones has had 15 carries over the first two weeks of the season, and has averaged 26 DraftKings points in that span. He’ll get an atrocious Falcons defense at home, in what could be a shoot out. Stacking Jones with Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, and/or Darius Slayton makes a ton of sense in tournaments.

Justin Fields @ Browns ($5,200)

The moment is week three for Justin Fields to take the NFL by storm and he’ll get a bottom ten Browns pass defense on the road for his maiden voyage. The rushing equity that Fields provides is the deal breaker at his Crate cost. Using Fields with Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney, or both makes sense in tournaments based on all of their affordable price tags and upside.

Running Backs

Clyde Edwards-Helaire vs. Chargers ($4,800)

CEH lost his first fumble week 2, but the Chiefs are clearly reliant on his full season durability to help carry the offense. Edwards-Helaire has disappointed so far, but the season is young and he is the featured running back on the leagues best offense. CEH is showing up in optimal lineups, and should hover around 15 touches. The Chargers have been a bottom three run defense allowing 162 yards per game. CEH will be a low owned, volume GPP play. He’s displayed his upside, it’s just a matter of continuity.

Javonte Williams vs. Jets ($4,900)

Rookie Javonte Williams has been in a split with Melvin Gordon so far this season and his ability to pass protect has helped. Big time. He’ll see close to 15 touches again week 3 as the Broncos take on the lowly Jets at home. The touchdowns are going to come, and correlating the Broncos defense with Williams makes plenty of sense.

Wide Receivers

K.J. Osborn vs. Seahawks ($3,500)

Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen are the alpha’s no doubt in Minnesota, but through two weeks, with the absence of Irv Smith, K.J. Osborn has picked up the slack. Osborn has caught 12-of-15 targets averaging over 17 Fantasy points (PPR) through two weeks. While defenses key in on Jefferson and Thielen, it would appear that Osborn will have some freedom. His target share and price make me feel ok with him in cash games, and he’s presented the upside for tournaments.

Quintez Cephus vs. Ravens ($3,900)

Tyrell Williams has been placed on injured reserve and it is going to create more opportunities for Quintez Cephus. Cephus has caught 7-of-13 targets with touchdowns in back to back weeks. Cephus played 51 of a possible 57 snaps against the Packers and could play more week 3 as the Lions are in desperate need of an offensive spark. Use him in cash games or tournaments.

Tight Ends

Maxx Williams @ Jaguars ($3,200)

Kyler Murray is playing at an MVP level and while the offense centers around the deep wide receiving corps, Maxx Williams has been in the mix. Williams caught 7-of-7 targets for 94 yards week 2, and has played nearly 75% of the snaps so far this season. At his price point, and display of upside, Williams is the new Dan Arnold in Arizona.

Austin Hooper vs. Bears ($3,600)

Now that Jarvis Landry is on Injured reserve, and Odell Beckham has been out, Austin Hooper will be Baker Mayfield’s most trusted pass catcher on an offense that is designed to run the football. Its not inconceivable to believe Hooper will be de-facto pass catcher # 1 . It’s been a slow start for Austin Hooper but he’ll have the booster usage with hi teammates sidelined.
