Week 3

DraftKings (Main Slate: 13 Games)

Quarterbacks

Mitchell Trubisky @ Falcons ($5,700)

This will be the THIRD week in a row that Mitch Trubisky has made the Crate. He’s thrown for multiple touchdowns in both games so far this season, and we have yet to see him click with his best wide receiver, Allen Robinson. In short, he’s improving. He’ll get an Atlanta Falcons secondary week 3 that has been torched recently by Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson.

Carson Wentz vs. Bengals ($5,800)
The Eagles are under a large micro scope and Carson Wentz is at the center of it. The offensive line is in shambles. As a result he’s been the lowest graded QB over the first two weeks. Things happen quick in DFS and the spot feels right for a tune up game against the Bengals at home. Miles Sanders gives the offense balance and should open up the passing game for Wentz Sunday. As a result he’ll be sub five percent owned and projects well. He’s a tournament play and a pivot off of Mitchell Trubisky.

Running Backs

Mike Davis @ Chargers ($5,100)

Bloody Sunday was brutal week two and the temporary loss of Christian McCaffrey is a testament to it. Mike Davis will be the fill in week three on the road, against the Chargers. Davis caught all eight of his targets week two but will really be tested sunday against a stout front seven. The 27 year old journeyman will be chalky and in order to pay off his Crate price tag, he’ll have to provide heavy usage in the passing game. Tread lightly here with exposure to Davis.
 

Joshua Kelley vs. Carolina ($5,000)

It has been fascinating watching Joshua Kelley out touch Austin Ekeler so far in 2020. Predictable as well with all of the NFL committees that are being formed. He’ll get a Panthers defense at home that has been gashed by Josh Jacobs and Leonard Fournette already this season. The Panthers have allowed six touchdowns to running backs so far. His price is enticing but the upside has yet to be seen. At 5% ownership he’s worth a look in tournaments.

Wide Receivers

Braxton Berrios @ Colts ($3,600)

Very simply put, the New York Jets are atrocious. Le’Veon Bell is on injured reserve and both Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder are doubtful for week 3. Where does that leave us? Braxton Berrios. He caught 6-of-8 targets week 2 for 59 yards and a touchdown. Someone needs to get the football right? Factor in the negative game scripts with the Jets trailing and we are looking at a PPR machine. He’s a cheap piece that can help us afford whatever we want in our builds. He’ll be a lock for me if Jamison Crowder officially does not suit up.
 

Adam Humphries @ Vikings ($3,900)

It does NOT look great for A.J. Brown to play week three and that leaves us Corey Davis and Adam Humphries at wide receiver for the Titans. Humphries caught 5-of-6 targets week 2 for 48 yards, and a touchdown. He’ll get an atrocious Vikings secondary week 3 on the road. He signed an enormous contract with the Titans ($35 million) and should start to see more snaps than he has. Like Barrios, these two are high volume PPR plays that are nearly free. We are content with 15 DraftKings points at their cost.

Tight Ends

Drew Sample @ Eagles ($3,500)

C.J. Uzomah tore his achilles week 2 after being heavily targeted by the rookie Joe Burrow and Drew Sample slid into the role nicely. Sample caught 7-of-9 targets week 2 and is line to face an Eagles defense that just allowed Tyler Higbee to gash them for three touchdowns. Sample is coming in at 2% ownership and should be once again relied on by Burrow. He’s a fantastic cash game and tournament play sunday. Most importantly he’s a cheap piece that will allow us to play whoever we want.

Dalton Schultz @ Seahawks ($4,500)

I find it fascinating that Dalton Schultz was targeted 10 times week 2 and caught nine of them. There is no shortage of work to go around with Ezekiel Elliott and the trio of elite wide receivers. It was supposed to be Blake Jarwin in replacing Jason Witten, but the injury bug struck and here we are. Week 3 has the ingredients of another shoot out with the Seahawks and he should get fed again. This is a game we want to stack and Schultz is a cheap piece for us to use in tournaments and cash games.

Defense/Special Teams

Chargers vs. Panthers ($3,700)

The Chargers front seven is stacked and their secondary is equally as talented. Without Christian McCaffrey it will be tough sledding for Teddy and the Panthers. Joey Bosa is going to EAT.
 

Buccaneers @ Broncos ($3,700)

Drew Lock is hurt, Courtland Sutton is on injured reserve, the Bucs should feast in the Mile high. They got us 14 DraftKings points week two. The Broncos are also thin at running back without Phillip Lindsay.

I see no real reason to pay down this week at defense. The Jets at $2,000 will be popular, but also dicey.
