DFS Cash Game Breakdown 2020 Week 1

Quarterback

Kyler Murray, ARI

Kyler Murray is just discount Lamar Jackson. In his 2020 debut, Murray hit 100 yards on the ground...until he kneeled away nine of those yards on the final two plays. Had he kept those nine, he would have hit the DraftKings bonus and been an even better value. Like Jackson, he has a rushing floor that is unparalleled every week, and now he also gets to throw to DeAndre Hopkins.

Tyrod Taylor, LAC

The Chargers opened up the year by beating the Bengals in an uninspiring performance. They won't be taking home a win in Week 2 but their offenses should put up more points out of necessity. They face the Chiefs and are currently 8.5-point dogs. Throughout his career, Taylor has converted a number of his dropbacks to rush attempts in every game. He has averaged over 35 rushing yards per game and a third of a score. He should easily hit those numbers versus the Chiefs as his team fights from behind for most of the game.

Running Back

Jonathan Taylor, IND

Jonathan Taylor is the free square at running back this week. He's $5,700 on DraftKings and inexplicably only $100 more on Fanduel, where you get an extra $10,000 in cap space. With Marlon Mack (torn Achilles') out of the picture, Taylor is slated to be the lead back for Indianapolis. He topped 2,000 yards from scrimmage in all three seasons at Wisconsin. Then, in his NFL debut, he caught all six of his targets for 67 yards. He's already looking like a three-down back and his price is far too cheap.

Christian McCaffrey, CAR

Christian McCaffrey picked up right where he left off last year in Week 1. He went for 98 yards on the ground and added 38 through the air on 26 touches. He also scored twice. Between Taylor and some affordable plays at defense and tight end, CMC is still worth getting up to in cash games for now.

Wide Receiver

Michael Gallup, DAL

Dallas struggled in their 2020 opener versus the Rams and ultimately lost by a field goal. The offense still showed signs of life. Dak Prescott was graded as a top-five passer on the week by Pro Football Focus. Michael Gallup saw five targets but he was used as the team's field-stretcher. Gallup had an average depth of target of 15.2 in Week 1. Versus a terrible Atlanta defense, Gallup will capitalize in Week 2.
 

Allen Robinson, CHI

Allen Robinson may want out of Chicago, but as long as he's with the team, he'll be an alpha receiver. He saw nine targets which were good for a 25% target share but he only caught five passes for 74 yards. DraftKings dropped his price to $6,400 and it's time to buy low.

Tight End

Logan Thomas, WAS

Logan Thomas is going to be a TE1 this year. He led his team with eight targets and 72 air yards. He played on 74.3% of Washington's offensive snaps and ran a route on 83.3% of their passing downs. Start playing him before his price jumps.

Tyler Higbee, LAR

Tyler Higbee looks like the best value of the slate at tight end at $4,700. He only saw four targets in Week 1 but that was good for second on his team. The Rams face a soft Philly defense this week. If you pay down from CMC to someone like Alvin Kamara, Higbee is worth getting up to over Thomas.

Defense

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins face Josh Allen this week and that's all you need to know. Allen kept doing Allen things in Week 1 despite having a good fantasy week. He took three sacks and lost two fumbles. He's on the road this week and Miami's defense costs $2,100.
