The Facts: Godwin, who was designated as the team's franchise free agent, reached agreement on a three-year, $60 million deal that includes $40 million fully guaranteed at signing, sources tell ESPN.
Diehards Line:
A third-round pick out of Penn State in the 2017 NFL draft, Godwin quickly established himself as one of the most complete pass-catchers in the league, and arguably the steal of that entire draft class. According to NFL.com, Godwin is key to everything the Bucs offense does. He can play anywhere, wins off the line, and is among the best route-runners in the game. Godwin will once again team up with Mike Evans and now Russell Gage to once again provide Tom Brady with a high-end receiving corps. Godwin is coming off a torn ACL and we'll need to monitor his progress in that rehab, but the wideout is back. I'll have more as further details come to light.
