The Facts: Over the last two years, Waller has emerged as one of the league's best tight ends. The Raiders claimed Waller off waivers during the 2018 season and he became a full-time starter the following year. He'd led the club in receiving yards over the past two seasons, each eclipsing 1,100 yards. Now after experiencing some success in the league, Waller is doing his best to stave off complacency entering 2021. "Naturally as a human being, if you do things at a fairly high level for a good amount of time, you probably want to kick your feet back and kind of coast a little bit," Waller said. "But for now, for me, it's just doing the opposite. It's watching even more tape of anybody that I can get my eyes and hands on, look at any little thing that I can to improve my game, the smallest details."

Diehards Line:USA Today recently noted that Waller could still improve as a blocker, but he is just about as good as it gets as a receiver. The Raiders have designed an offense that flows through him. Waller is fully capable of lining up out wide and beating cornerbacks as a receiver. That's why Waller saw 27.9 percent of his team's targets in 2020, which ranked fourth in the NFL, behind only Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs and DeAndre Hopkins. Kelce was the closest tight end at 23.7 percent. His 107 catches last season was the third-most among tight ends, behind only Zach Ertz (2018, 116 catches) and Jason Witten (2012, 110 catches). Don't expect that role to change noticeably.
