The Facts: While Chris Godwin signed his franchise tender with the Bucs, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler is told Robinson is in no rush to sign his with Chicago -- he could wait a while.
Diehards Line:
As USA Today suggests, this is par for the course when it comes to the relationship between the Bears and Robinson since last summer. A-Rob thought he deserved a new contract before the start of the 2020 regular season, and while it's been reported that the Bears and Robinson's representatives had some discussions on a new deal in September, there's been no activity between the two sides since. Beyond that, Chicago's 2021 free agency decisions haven't been ideal. The dream of Russell Wilson was replaced by the reality of Andy Dalton, and instead of Trent Williams blocking Dalton's blindside, the Bears re-signed Germain Ifedi. Regardless, this contract saga has been and continues to be a thorn in the Bears' plans.
