The Facts: Mahomes' path back to the field for the AFC Championship Game included a stop at a mid-week practice. The Chiefs quarterback remains in concussion protocol but participated in what was a light practice for the Chiefs on Wednesday. “He looked good, he is in the protocol, so there’s only certain things he can do, and it’s a limited basis, but today is a limited practice so this fit right into what he can do. But he took all the snaps and feels good. We just have to follow this protocol as closely as we possibly can,” HC Andy Reid said.
Diehards Line:Indeed, Mahomes was officially listed as a limited participant on the team's injury report although he must still work through the protocol for clearance to play on Sunday. ... Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle, hip) and Sammy Watkins (calf) were also limited along with CBs Bashaud Breeland (concussion, shoulder) and Rashad Fenton (foot). Edwards-Helaire and Watkins did not play against the Browns last Sunday. LB Willie Gay (ankle) was the only Chiefs player out of practice entirely.
