The Facts: OC Joe Brady is looking to maximize all his talent in Carolina, but the offensive focal point is still McCaffrey. The 2019 first-team All-Pro selection logged one of the league's highest usage rates for a second straight year but don't expect the rookie OC to make a rookie mistake by going away from his best player. "I think Christian had 429 touches this past year. That's a lot, obviously. But if there is one person that can take it, one person that takes care of his body the way that he does, it's Christian McCaffrey, Brady said. "A lot of it will come down to the rest of the personnel on our team and figuring out how they're gonna be utilized. ... Depending on how that running back room and wide reciever room, tight end room goes, a lot of that will factor into [his] touches. But Christian will get his touches."
Diehards Line:McCaffrey joined Marshall Faulk and Roger Craig as the only players to total 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in a season last year and is coming off back-to-back 100-plus catch seasons. He's generated a whopping 303 receptions in three seasons and Fantasy owners have been prime beneficiaries. Not only did he rank in the top 20 an amazing 15 times, but McCaffrey also scored 20-plus fantasy points 14 times. According to NFL.com, no other back had more than seven. McCaffrey also led the position in games with 25-plus fantasy point performances with 11. Heading into 2020, believing he has a shot to bust the 1,000/1,000 barrier another time, especially given Brady's comments.
