The Facts: Multi-faceted quarterback Hill will be "the guy" for the New Orleans Saints after Drew Brees retires according to Jay Glazer of The Athletic. "No smokescreen, he’s the guy," Glazer said while answering a mailbag question. "Sean Payton loves him but it’s not just him, the whole team loves him."
Diehards Line:Glazer went on to hype Hill even more, calling him a "bigger Lamar Jackson. ..." As the Redzone.org notes, Glazer is not the first person to make that impression, but it still seems to be a stretch. Jackson just won the MVP award; Hill is a 30-year-old (in August) who has attempted 13 passes in his NFL career. The Saints are expected to give Hill every opportunity to win the starting job in the post-Brees era but former No.1-overall pick Jameis Winston should not be counted out of the equation. Still, Glazer's report is consistent with what Payton has maintained all along.
