The Facts: The Jaguars are not picking up the fifth-year option of former first-round pick Fournette, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Diehards Line:
This news comes in the wake of multiple pre-draft reports indicating the Jaguars were looking to trade Fournette heading into the selection process. Instead, Fournette, who is due $4.1 million this season, remains with the team -- at least for now. Remember, the Jags took Fournette with the fourth pick overall in 2017, ahead of Christian McCaffrey, Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. Fournette recently told reporters he would be happy and work hard regardless of team this season. We'll be looking for signs that still applies as he plays out his rookie contract this year and heads into free agency in 2021.
