The Facts: According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys are going to try to buck history, attempting to get a deal done with Prescott by the close of the franchise tag window on March 10.
Diehards Line:
A lot will have to happen for a deal to come together. Remember, all indications in recent days have pointed to the Cowboys assigning that tag to their star QB. Remember, talks have gone on for months without coming close to a resolution. Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said last month at the Senior Bowl that signing Prescott to a new deal was the franchise's No. 1 priority this offseason and that talks are about to heat up. Still, there's much work for the two sides in advance of March 10 and nobody should be surprised if that long-term deal takes longer.
