The Facts: Kupp will not be placed on PUP when training camp opens later this week, according to the team. It has been a long recovery from knee surgery but Kupp has been cleared.
Diehards Line:
According to NFL Network's Steve Wyche, Kupp's work load will be measured. The wideout played in eight games last season, scoring six touchdowns, and was a vital piece in the Rams' offensive puzzle -- a safety valve for QB Jared Goff, a stout blocker and a down-the-field threat. He suffered a strained left knee in Week 6 when he was dragged down from behind with a horse-collar tackle at Denver, and wound up missing the next two games. Returning to the field against New Orleans in Week 9, he turned a short reception into a 41-yard touchdown. The next week he suffered the torn ACL in his left knee on a non-contact injury against Seattle which ended his season. Assuming he avoids setback, there's no reason to believe Kupp's connection with Goff won't continue to keep him locked-in on the forefront of the passing component in this offense. And that will continue to make him a viable -- if not high-end -- weekly starter for fantasy owners.
