The Facts: The Titans kick off training camp two weeks from today, but Mariota and some of his receivers are getting a head start in building further chemistry. Mariota and several of his receivers threw passes on a college football field in the Los Angeles area on Thursday, and they’re planning to work out again today.
Diehards Line: It’s the second time this offseason players gathered prior to a reporting date. Back in March, a large group of receivers met at a high school field in Nashville in the days leading up to the start of the team’s offseason program. Receivers Tajae Sharpe, Taywan Taylor, Cameron Batson and A.J. Brown are among those who worked with Mariota on Thursday. There’s a possibility others could join the group today. Receivers Corey Davis, Adam Humphries and Darius Jennings are among the receivers who’ve also spent time with Mariota throwing passes away from the facility this offseason. Davis and Sharpe were scheduled to throw with Mariota in Oregon earlier this month, but both players had travel issues. Mariota traveled to California and organized the throwing sessions, designed to build further chemistry. The Titans are scheduled to report to training camp at Saint Thomas Sports Park on July 25, and the team will conduct its first practice on July 26.
