The Facts: Following up on a previous item. ... The Browns have talked to their suspended running back, Hunt, about the incident that took place outside a downtown Cleveland bar Saturday night, but will have no further comment at this point, team spokesman Peter John-Baptiste said. The NFL, which suspended Hunt for the first eight games of the season for two physical altercations in 2018, declined to comment, spokesman Brian McCarthy said.
Diehards Line:Cellphone video obtained by TMZ shows Hunt being questioned by Cleveland police officers about the incident. GN John Dorsey said in February when he signed Hunt that he’ll have a “zero tolerance’’ for further transgressions by the Pro Bowl back. But at this point, the incident, which took place sometime late Saturday night, does not appear to have risen to that level. The Browns will likely continue to gather information before commenting further. Hunt, 23, was not arrested, and Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said no police report, body camera video or other documentation exists related to any incident involving Hunt. One source told Plain Dealer staffer Mary Kay Cabot that Hunt and one of his friends had a small argument outside the bar. The Browns are in the midst of their summer break, and veterans will report to training camp July 24. Hunt is permitted to practice with the team through camp, and his suspension will begin the first week of the regular season.
