The Facts: The Broncos officially hired former 49ers’ QB's coach Rich Scangarello as their offensive coordinator, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Diehards Line:Per Schefter, Scangarello will be Denver’s play caller. As USA Today suggested, that means he’ll have an important job of maximizing quarterback Case Keenum, and possibly helping guide a young signal caller. Scangarello had a lot of success developing young quarterbacks in San Francisco. He helped Jimmy Garoppolo quickly get up to speed in the offense, and steered C.J. Beathard and Nick Mullens through their NFL debuts without any significant disasters. Denver also provides a dramatically different head coach for Scangarello in defensive-minded head coach Vic Fangio.
