The Facts: Falcons running back Devonta Freeman is expected to undergo groin surgery and will be placed on the injured reserve.
Diehards Line:Freeman has been dealing with injuries all season long. He injured his knee in Week 1, returned in Week 5, before injuring his foot in that game, and sitting out Week 6. He is now reportedly undergoing groin surgery and will hit the IR. The team said that he could return before the end of the season, but he will have to sit out at least eight games. Considering we are almost midway through the season, Freeman may not be of use to fantasy owners this year. Ito Smith and Tevin Coleman will likely operated as a running back by committee for the Falcons.
