The Facts: Eleven days from kickoff, Carson Wentz still isn't cleared for contact. It's been a daily question for HC Doug Pederson. "I don't know how many times I can answer this question," Pederson said Sunday. "When they clear him, he'll be cleared."
Diehards Line:Pressed as to when Wentz might get that clearance, Pederson wasn't having any of it. "I'm not going to put myself in a box. I'm not going to put my quarterback in a box," Pederson said before adding: "He's part of the rehab process. He's getting evaluated at practice. He's getting evaluated by the medical team. He's getting treatment. ..." As NFL.com points out, things aren't quite as dire as they seem from a "he hasn't been cleared" standpoint, because Wentz has been cleared for 11-on-11 drills. And he looked more than stable while working out before Philadelphia's eventual Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. He just hasn't been cleared to get hit, which is kind of important when it comes to Week 1. From a fantasy perspective, this doesn't matter much. Wentz's status is baked into his current ADP and if you're going to draft him, you have to have a plan in place to cover for him early in the season just in case.
