The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... Gordon has received the NFL’s blessing to return to practices and games, but the health of the Browns wide receiver has caused a delay. Gordon is dealing with tightness in a hamstring after tweaking the muscle while conditioning, a team spokesman said.
Diehards Line:
After the Browns removed Gordon from the active/non-football injury list, he participated Saturday morning in the first walk-through session since he returned to the team on Aug. 18. But with a hamstring bothering him, he worked out on the side of the field Saturday afternoon during practice. Browns coach Hue Jackson had hoped Gordon, a 2013 All-Pro selection, would be able to play in the Aug. 30 preseason finale against the Detroit Lions, but the hamstring problem will almost certainly keep him out of the action. Whether it interferes with his availability for the Sept. 9 regular-season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers remains to be seen.
