The Facts: Jason Garrett told reporters Beasley is capable of playing outside as well as in the slot. "I think he’s always been able to handle it," the coach said. "You’ve seen him have a lot of success at different times as an outside receiver. You’re absolutely right, he plays much more inside, but we’ve done that with him before."
Diehards Line:
According to Bleacher Report, opposing defenses have started to figure out Beasley and his role in the Cowboys offense. Beasley has a limited route tree, so defenders are sitting on the underneath routes and daring him to beat them deep. That didn't happen in 2017. Beasley is still an explosive athlete who can win in one-on-one coverage, but he wasn't as effective last year as he has been in previous seasons -- which may explain the desire to use him outside more.
