The Facts: According to Pioneer Press staffer Chris Tomasson, Cook's rehab is to the point where Vikings say he will be a full go as training camp ramps up.
Diehards Line:No real surprise here. All signs have pointed to Cook being ready to roll after his rookie season was cut short by a torn ACL. In fact, GM Rick Spielman recently suggested that Cook's rehab and recovery could lead to success similar to that of former Vikings running back Adrian Peterson when he returned to the field and rushed for more than 2,000 yards in 2012 following his ACL injury. The Vikings second-round pick in 2017 was injured in Week 4 and missed the remainder of the season. Before the injury, Cook demonstrated the ability to be a high-end featured back capable of handling an every-down role. His speed, vision and ability to hit the hole gave us all a taste of what's to come assuming the knee isn't an ongoing issue. While fantasy owners need to monitor his progress through August, the Vikings training staff's long history of success with ACL rehabs (which includes but also goes beyond Peterson) will certainly work in his favor. When he's healthy? Expect Cook to be among the busiest running backs in the NFL.
