The Facts: Foreman is taking a confident stance while recuperating from a ruptured Achilles tendon sustained last November. While he hasn't set a specific date for his return, he's upbeat that he'll ultimately make a full recovery and regain his old bruising form. "I definitely feel that way," Foreman said. "I believe. ... When I come back, I'll be just as good as before."
Diehards Line:
That said, it appears unlikely that Foreman will be full-go for the start of training camp. The Texans do expect him to play this season and are hopeful about his long-term outlook. "They told me when it happened that it will be a long process," Foreman said. The second-year man plans to spend the majority of his time before training camp rehabbing in Houston. According to Chronicle staffer Aaron Wilson, Foreman appears trim and fit and has been following a healthy diet and doing all he can in terms of weight lifting and conditioning with strength and conditioning coach Luke Richesson. Whether Foreman will be ready for the season opener against the New England Patriots remains up in the air. That's not his primary concern. It's about being fully healthy and having no setbacks in his recovery. We'll be watching for more.
