The Facts: Asked about his return from last year's season-ending wrist injury that kept him off the field for all but the regular-season opener, Johnson told NFL Network: "Feels great to be back on the field with my brothers. The wrist feels great. I'm good to go. My goal is still 1,000 yards rushing, 1,000 yards receiving."
Diehards Line:
Since arriving in Arizona as Bruce Arians' replacement, new HC Steve Wilks has preached the gospel of the ground attack. Wilks plans to lean heavily on Johnson. And Johnson is clearly looking forward to that. Remember, because the injury occurred so early in the season, Johnson was able to train even harder than normal. He's off to a promising start in spring practices, making a strong first impression on Wilks. Operating behind a solid offensive line in 2016, Johnson fell 121 receiving yards shy of the 1,000/1,000 club. After injuries ravaged the blocking unit last season, Wilks now believes his revamped front line is the strength of the team. As NFL.com notes, transitioning from Arians' offense to new coordinator Mike McCoy's scheme, Johnson will also have to get used to running behind a fullback for the first time in his pro career. Expect him to adjust well.
