The Facts: Godwin finished his first season in the NFL with 34 receptions for 525 yards and one receiving touchdown in an exceptional performance, despite the Bucs brutal 5-11 finish. As a result, Bucs OC Todd Monken believes that Godwin could be a starter for Tampa Bay this season.
Diehards Line:
If he takes on a starting role then it will obviously be alongside DeSean Jackson and Mike Evans, who have both served as the team’s starters. However, Godwin shined for the Bucs in Evans’ absence last season which helped solidify their overall confidence in him. The question then becomes, what kind of workload Godwin can get as the No. 3 receiver? As Fantasy Pro's Mike Tagliere recently pointed out, Adam Humphries totaled 166 targets over the last two seasons handling that role, which ranks 45th among all wide receivers.
