The Facts: Not much has gone wrong for Green, the all-everything receiver, since being selected fourth overall by the Bengals in 2011. Yet, in 2017, the star who makes everything look easy took the hard road. With time to reflect on the roughest patch of his career, Green took away new lessons. “Biggest thing is there are going to be up-and-down seasons,” said Green. “Coming from the last six years, I had some great seasons. This being one of my not-so-great ones, talking to the older guys like Larry (Fitzgerald) and just keeping your head up and staying positive through the season. Don’t get frustrated. Continue to work. That’s exactly what I learned. You can’t take anything for granted so I have to keep working.”
Diehards Line:Green has gone to the Pro Bowl each of his seven seasons. He ranks ninth in NFL history for most yards racked up during the first seven years, only narrowly edged out by Chad Johnson for the franchise mark. But even Johnson admitted Green to be the better player in recent years. But Green's numbers dipped to some of the lowest of his career in yards per game and catch percentage. He had uncharacteristic drops and turnovers at key times and, of course, a fight with Jalen Ramsey and ejection in Jacksonville on the way to 7-9. Still, Green managed to eclipse 1,000 yards receiving with eight touchdowns and he heads into this season as a likely value pick based on those 2017 totals. Don't shy away from him if that's the case.
