The Facts: Foreman has reached a favorable resolution on marijuana and gun charges stemming from his arrest in July in Austin, according to his Houston-based attorney Chip Lewis. The former University of Texas star pleaded no contest to a single misdemeanor count, a charge of disorderly conduct for making unreasonable noise. "Everybody's happy," Lewis said. "D'Onta is relieved. He's learned a great deal from this."
Diehards Line:
According to Chronicle staffer John McClain, that disorderly conduct charge will be dismissed by Travis County prosecutors, provided that Foreman has no legal issues for 90 days. Foreman was required to pay a $500 fine and turn in a gun that police found in his car. Foreman was originally charged with two misdemeanors: Possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Lewis communicates regularly with Foreman's agents, and NFL discipline isn't anticipated for the Texans running back -- although it's still certainly well within the realm of possibility. ... Foreman rushed for 327 yards and two touchdowns prior to suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon while scoring a touchdown in a November win over the Arizona Cardinals. Foreman has been diligently rehabbing the injury and is expected to make a full recovery for his second NFL season. "D'Onta is focused on his recovery," Lewis said. "He's working extremely hard and doing extremely well. It was sad to see him get injured just as he was starting to blossom. He's a tough kid. He'll be back."
