The Facts: On Sunday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported there still are doctors who have concerns about Luck's shoulder and whether he could wind up needing additional surgery.
Diehards Line:Despite the report, Luck remains optimistic that he will be ready to participate in team OTA work as he continues to rehab from last January's shoulder surgery. "I'm very optimistic. I feel really good. I do not think I need another surgery. I believe in the process I'm in right now," he said. "I've had great help. So I hope to continue to get better. Yeah, I plan on being ready for everything." In addition, GM Chris Ballard told reporters on Wednesday morning that Luck doesn’t need surgery, per two doctors he saw after season. Ballard said Luck's strength is good and he's working on motion and arm speed. But he hasn’t picked up a football and isn't going to skip a step. Of course, some believe Luck's shoulder may have been one factor in Josh McDaniels' sudden decision to back out on his agreement to coach the team on Tuesday. ... Whatever the case, Luck's status is something we'll be watching closely in coming weeks.
