The Facts: Rodgers broke his collarbone in Week 6 and went on injured reserve before making a return to the lineup in Week 15 against the Panthers. It turned out to be a cameo as the Packers lost to end any chance of a playoff berth and Rodgers returned to injured reserve for the final two weeks of the season. Rodgers is in Minnesota on Thursday making the media rounds and the condition of his collarbone is the main topic at all of his stops and he's saying that everything is feeling good more than a month after his final game action of the year. "Everything's fine," He said on ESPN. "I swung a golf club yesterday in Scottsdale."
Diehards Line:
Rodgers played in the PGA Tour's Waste Management Pro-Am. ... Also of interest, Rodgers seemed puzzled by the departure of QB coach Alex Van Pelt. “I thought that was an interesting change. ... Really without consulting me," he said. "There’s a close connection between the quarterback and his [position] coach. That was an interesting decision.” HC McCarthy indicated last month that Van Pelt decided to let his contract run out in order to pursue an offensive coordinator job. It allowed Van Pelt to become a free agent and prevented the Packers from blocking him for other jobs as they have done with assistants in the past. McCarthy brought back Joe Philbin as offensive coordinator, and Van Pelt ended up as the Bengals' quarterbacks coach. The Packers hired Giants assistant Frank Cignetti Jr. as their new quarterbacks coach.
