The Facts: Shepard expected to be "in the clear," per source. He underwent an MRI on Thursday. HC Ben McAdoo said it was "due diligence."
Diehards Line:
Shephard injured his ankle on Wednesday and there was considerable initial concern as he was carted off the field. But all indications are this is alow ankle sprain, and with this latest reporting, it appears his absence will be relatively brief. As Profootballtalk.com notes, Shepard had an impressive rookie season, with 65 catches for 683 yards and eight touchdowns. If he’s able to match those numbers this year after the addition of wide receiver Brandon Marshall and tight end Evan Engram, who join Odell Beckham and Shepard to give the Giants a chance to be a prolific passing game.
