The Facts: Needing a response after throwing five interceptions in Saturday night's practice, Bortles delivered one Monday morning. Bortles played 35 snaps of 11-on-11 practice and 22-of-23 passing, not including four clock-the-stop throws into the turf. "I thought he bounced back well, which is something that you obviously want to do," HC Doug Marrone said.
Diehards Line:
Bortles started camp well, completing 33 of 43 passes (no interceptions) in the first two practices. But then Saturday’s horror show – 12-of-21 passing with three interceptions in team drills and two more in 7-on-7. By practice segment on Monday, Bortles was 6-of-6, 4-of-4, 1-of-2, 1-of-1, 2-of-2, 4-of-4 and 4-of-4. Bortles completed his last 14 passes. ... Of course, the Jags won't be satisfied with similar up and down efforts come September, so we'll continue watching to see if the positives become more the norm.
