The Facts: The second play from scrimmage during the initial team period of 2017 was a 32-yard TD pass from Ryan Tannehill to DeVante Parker. Parker, starting his third season, had an outstanding spring that suggested this is going to be a breakout season. And this first practice did nothing to change that hope. Parker caught two passes, including one in the end zone in which he simply posted up a defender, made himself big, and snatched Tannehill's pass from 11 yards out.
Diehards Line:
HC Adam Gase wasn’t surprised Parker had a very good day. “I think he was looking to not ease into camp,” Gase said. “When I saw him last night, I could tell he was ready to get after it. ...” Parker came in as the 14th overall pick in 2015 and has started 12 games as a Dolphin. He has yet to cement himself as a No. 1 receiver and had nine games with three or fewer catches last season. But he seems to be on track to break out this season based on a strong offseason. We'll continue watching for signs the strong efforts will carry over, but today was one of those signs.
