The Facts: HC Ron Rivera said Newton is in Baltimore throwing with teammates so "apparently his shoulder is fine."
Diehards Line:
Newton underwent surgery in March to repair a partially torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder. He began throwing in June, which was exactly where the Panthers hoped he'd be at that point in his recovery -- just like the original timeframe spelled out. If all goes well, Newton will be cleared to throw to teammates during the Panthers' first practice in training camp. But he probably foreshadowed this latest development after his first throwing session on June 26. "I want to be 100 percent come training camp. There's no doubt that I will be," Newton said at the time. "Shoot, in two weeks, I'll be ready to rock and roll. ..." We'll continue watching for more.
