The Facts: According to NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline, the 49ers' new front office wants a bigger back to run the offense and they're ready to give up on Hyde, who has had his struggles staying healthy since being drafted by the franchise in 2014.
Diehards Line:In fact, sources with knowledge of the situation tell Pauline the 49ers are very high on LSU star Leonard Fournette and are seriously considering using the second pick of the draft to acquire him. As previously noted, Hyde is still working his way back to full speed after the knee sprain that sidelined him late last season. Prior to that, Hyde has been slowed by a variety of minor injuries and one fairly serious issue -- a stress fracture in his foot that cost him nine games in 2015. ... This is definitely a situation we'll watch closely.
