The Facts: The Redskins have expressed interest in Goodwin, according to multiple people with knowledge of the situation.
Diehards Line:
With DeSean Jackson’s departure imminent, Washington will be lacking a deep threat on its roster to open up the middle of the field for tight end Jordan Reed and wide receiver Jamison Crowder. The Redskins would gain that in Goodwin, a track and field athlete that qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic team in the long jump. Goodwin set a personal best in the 60-meter dash at 6.67 seconds last year during the U.S. indoor track and field championships. Goodwin, 26, has spent all four NFL seasons with the Buffalo Bills and recorded a career-high 29 catches for 431 receiving yards in 15 games (nine starts) last season. He averaged 14.9 yards per reception to go along with three touchdowns.
