The Facts: Lewis left Sunday's Super Bowl win over Atlanta with a hamstring injury -- a major sigh of relief considering the alternative. So how was the hamstring feeling after the game? "I'm feeling great now," he said.
Diehards Line:
Lewis went down on the final play of regulation, a trick play where the Patriots made is seem like they were kneeling the ball to run out the clock on the fourth quarter. But instead, they got the ball out to Lewis on the edge. However, as Lewis approached the sideline, his leg buckled, and the running back went crashing into the turf and took a while to get up. However, he'd like to reiterate: He did not blow out his knee. "It's my hamstring, I'm good," Lewis said "It's not my knee. I'll be good in about two weeks." Rather than leave the field on a cart (like many feared would be the case), Lewis was well enough to take the podium after the game, and could be seen among Patriots players out of the field for the Lombardi Trophy presentation.
