The Facts: Adams was a second-round draft pick in 2014, which would normally mean his spot on the roster is safe. But GM Ted Thompson gave up on second-round draft pick Jerel Worthy after two seasons in 2014. And with Green Bay possessing one of football's deeper receiving units, Adams needs a big summer to stick around.
Diehards Line:
At the end of 2015, Pro Football Focus ranked the 119 receivers that played at least 25% of their team's snaps. Adams finished 118th. Adams caught 50 passes last year, but averaged a pedestrian 9.7 yards per reception. The last time the Packers had a receiver with at least 25 receptions that finished with fewer yards per catch was Carlton Elliott in 1951 (9.1). Adams dropped 12 of the 96 passes thrown his way (12.5%). He averaged just 3.0 yards after the catch. And no receiver with at least 50 receptions had fewer touchdowns than Adams (one). No matter what happens with Adams, Journal-Sentinel staffer X reports the Packers figure to give third-year man Jeff Janis more opportunities than a year ago.
